My favorite Brooklyn Japanese Restaurant is Geido, at 331 Flatbush Ave
Brooklyn, NY 11217, near 7th Avenue. They serve excellent sushi, sashimi, grilled fish, okonomiyaki, and seasonal specialties which may include oden or chawanmushi. They have recently started serving lunch from Friday through Sunday. The staff is really friendly and efficient. The crowd is a mix of Japanese and everyone else who lives in Brooklyn.Give them a try.

I discovered this Japanese restaurant as it is two blocks away from the Nursing Home where my Mum is.

Hibino - Japanese Restaurant - 333 Henry St. - a block south of Atlantic Avenue. They got a nice write-up in the NY Times recently. Now that they have their liquor license for sake, at least - you can get a drink and the appetizers called obanzai.
