One of my favorite places to eat in Manhattan is Chiyono Restaurant on East 6th Street. They serve Japanese home cooking such as Miso marinated Cod (Tara Saikyo yaki), simmered pork belly (buta kaku ni), and a wonderful Gobo Soup. The Gobo Soup is a thick potage made from burdock root. They have a homepage at:

I went to the Japanese restaurant in Union Square, called "Souen." I'm a vegitarian and they have many organic dishes. So many selections even deserts! I ordered a Bento Box and Sesami Pudding.

You can check out more here, http://www.souen.net/

My favorite spot for sushi is Chiyoda Sushi, located on 41st street, between Madison and 5th. This chain store just opened in February of 2006, and the main restaurant is located in Tsukiji, Tokyo, where they are known for having some of the best sushi in Tokyo! For sushi sets, lunch and dinner, there quality and selection can not be beat. They have other Japanese dishes also, offering REAL bento lunch boxes as well. They have catering deals too! Check out their website at: http://www.chiyodasushiny.com

COOL, I'd rather just eat at the place I go to in Queens called Arigato Sushi. On 30th Ave. and Crescent St. in Astoria. This is pretty good until I get a chance to go to Japan and see it for real. Thanks and later dudes.

I went to the small and cozy Japanese restaurant called "Aki Sushi" in the village yesterday. It was a great restaurant because it was not a typical Japanese restaurant. Their foods are very creative and fun, and has many influences from Jamaican and brazillian cultures. Price was also affordable, not too too expensive. It's definetly worth to try it.
